Tommy
Gravino Wins Songwriting Competition
Tommy received the Directors
Award of Merit for
excellence in songwriting as exhibited in his Christmas song "On
Christmas Eve"
The award was presented to Tommy from the Paramount
Group out of Nashville, Tennessee. They have invited Tommy to
have a professional demo of his song done at their studios and then be
pitched by the The Paramount Group to artists, producers and labels for
recording.
“Party Of One” is a collection of pop and jazz
songs, of which eight are written and arranged by Gravino.
“Down In Nashville” and “Wheel Of Fortune” have received
awards from an international songwriting competition based in Ft.
Myers, Florida. The song, “Monroe Avenue” has it’s basis in Gravino’s
native Rochester.
“Party Of One” is Tommy’s first solo recording since
leaving the local band scene in February of this year. His desire for a
more “personal performance” inspired the unique solo act that features
piano, saxophone, flute and vocals. His performances feature musical
selections that appeal to all age groups and tastes. |
Tommy
has performed with Jack Edward
Smith, Ryan Carey and a lovely flamenco dancer at the
Chagal, Monet and
Picasso opening at the Memorial Art
Gallery in Rochester, N.Y. The
group performed in the auditorium to a packed house for two
performances.

Tommy Gravino, A
Multi-Instrumental Solo Act With Flair took on a new
look at the ZooBoo performance. He performed children's songs and
family favorites for the crowds at the Halloween event. Tommy
brought his friend the dinosaur to provide candy for the children and
dance to the music. The weather was rainy, but it
did not dampen
the spirits of the children. |
